Getting It Right the First Time

At Infusion RN Services, P.C., our Vascular Access Nurses have years of active experience inserting Midline and PICCs while using state-of-the-art technology at facilities throughout the Hudson Valley counties and New York City.

All intravenous insertions are guided by ultrasound, which reduces the number of sticks, and assists the nurse to access the vessel on the first stick. For the placement of PICCs, in addition to ultrasound, we use innovative technology that in most cases, eliminates the need for a chest x-ray to confirm catheter tip placement. Therefore, eliminating the need to expose the patient to unnecessary radiation. Once tip confirmation is obtained "real-time" at the bedside, the catheter can be used immediately for prescribed infusion.

This technology has been cleared by the FDA to replace the need for a chest x-ray to confirm tip placement. There are specific circumstances where a chest x-ray may still be recommended.

Our Vascular Access Nurses also provide education to the patient, family members and facility staff to assist in catheter management, problem-solving complications and reducing infections, which results in patient satisfaction, the successful completion of prescribed therapy and positive patient outcomes.
